From Soul-Searching to a Life\u2019s Calling in Therapy and Teaching<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I am happily married and blessed with three beautiful children.
I took a year off after high school to do soul-searching, as I had no idea what I wanted to do. The following year, I heard about the career path of a Psychologist – and that immediately made me go, “Yes, that is it!”.
I studied for my Bachelor of Psychology and a BA Honours in Criminology. A few years later, I completed my BA Honours in Psychology.
Then came the Masters in Sexology, which still makes many people blush when they hear “Sexology!” The path may have taken some turns from my first ideas; it grew and expanded far more than I initially imagined. The outcome: a career in doing what I love.<\/p>

I have my own practice and have been counselling for almost 20 years. I was very fortunate to get into an internship during my second year of studies at a trauma centre. I have been in Education since 2011 and love it. I get to mix my two passions. The world of therapy and teaching. I have found my purpose in life and see myself as the “Light-bearer”, I have the ability to help people put their narrative pieces together, to see a whole picture and gain some clarity where there was hurt and confusion. So they get to have the “Aa-ha moments!”<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

I am passionate about helping people and guiding them to become better versions of themselves.<\/p>

My one focus is a woman\u2019s overall wellness in ALL aspects of her life and, in turn, a positive effect on her relationships. Her sexuality, self-esteem, emotions, intuitions, sensations, experiences…….; all uniquely intertwined, that makes her distinctively \u201cHer!\u201d You have a life story, not only comprising of your past but also connecting your dreams and expectations for the future and then the current reality of your present.<\/p>

I also focus on couples through guidance on how they can improve the quality of their relationship. What is imperative is to consider the needs of your partner without neglecting yourself. Thus, I like to engage with clients on how they can be themselves in a relationship and who they are as individuals. I aim to work on communication. I help couples to have those difficult conversations that need to be had. Intimacy is vital in a relationship, an essential element we do not leave out in our sessions. I work with couples in sessions together and on a one-to-one basis.<\/p>

I love to work with Teenagers and Young Adults, too. Helping them discover who they are in this very turbulent world with so many clashing opinions and options. Self-discovery is so important. Young people today are often plagued by anxiety and information overload from every angle. I work with them to create a sense of “This is me” and how to eliminate ” This is NOT me”. Whether you are battling with anxiety, panic attacks, battling at school, being bullied, eating problems, pressure overload, feeling lost, no one understands you, feeling alone, or just cannot cope any more. I want to listen to you! No judgement, no lectures or long speeches. Let us figure it out! I work with young people from the age of 12 upwards.<\/p>

My special ability is the ability to listen to your unique story and help you “connect the dots” to bring clarity to situations. Do you need someone to talk to, be heard, and no judgment? Talking about it brings healing. Stop going around in circles! Unstuck yourself! Therapy is active and participative! We create goals. We achieve goals. We discover and conquer!<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
